Gluten Free, definition of

Gluten Free

Gluten is a protein found in wheat (including kamut and spelt), barley, rye, malts and triticale. It is used as a food additive in the form of a flavoring, stabilizing or thickening agent, often as "dextrin".

It has been shown that people can have an intolerance to gluten, which can cause:

  • Skin issues: dry, raised bumps
  • Hyperactivity in children
  • Bloating
In extreme cases this can lead to Coeliac Disease.
